Participating in Research
The sections below apply only if you have signed up or are enrolled in a sponsored research study. If you are a PicnicHealth member and not enrolled in a study, skip ahead.
Your Research Dashboard shows the activities that are part of your study under your “Tasks”. You will receive email, SMS, and push notifications (if using the app) when something is open or about to expire.
Completing a survey or study task:
Click on the survey or activity listed in your Dashboard’s task list.
Read each question carefully and select or type your answer.
Click "Next" to move through the task.
When you reach the end, click "Submit."
You will see a confirmation message when your task is completed. For surveys, your progress is automatically saved if you are interrupted.
Connecting a wearable device:
Some studies ask you to connect a device you already own or the study provided, such as an activity wearable or health device. If this applies to your study, you will see a prompt in your Research Dashboard with an intake survey followed by step-by-step connection instructions.
What If I Do Not Want to Continue Participating?
Participation is always voluntary. If you decide that you do not wish to continue participation, you have the right to withdraw. Contact our support team and we will walk you through the process or adjust your participation within your settings.
Click the Settings icon in the top right corner.
Select Click the Settings icon in the top right corner.
Scroll to find the Account section.
Select Adjust participation and follow the prompts.
Your records are still yours
Withdrawing from the study does not delete your medical records. Everything collected during your participation stays in your Timeline for you to access, download, or share with your doctors at any time.
If you would like to close your PicnicHealth account entirely — not just withdraw from the study — contact us at help@picnichealth.com and we will help you with that process as well.
